This department is also equipped with Statistical, epidemiological and Health Education (IEC) Cell with facilities for internet, computer, printer, data analysis, preparation of IEC material. There is also provision for a spacious public health laboratory, with working tables for students, equipped with glassware, instruments, microscopes- dissecting & oil immersion, facilities for entomology and staining of specimen; prepared microscopic slides on microbiology, parasitology of public health importance. Apart from academic activities, the Community Medicine department is engaged in providing preventive, promotive and curative services to urban and rural population. There is Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) Vatika which is a Rural field practice area of the Department for providing comprehensive health care (OPD and IPD) to rural community, training UG/PG students and interns.
Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) situated at Pratap Nagar, Sanganer catering for primary health care to underserved/ needy slum population and used as field practice area for UG/PG, interns etc. Besides the various Teaching, Research and Community activities, the Department of Community Medicine is also involved in other activities like: Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) of Dept of Women and Child Welfare, Govt. of India), Immunization, DOTS for tuberculosis, Janani Shishu SuraksaYojna, etc. Practical includes field visits to a number of centres carrying out activities which have direct bearing on prevention of diseases like Malaria, tuberculosis, fluorosis etc. Laboratory and museum setting are used to discuss environment, Nutrition, entomology etc.
