Overview

We, at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical College aim at producing competent and skilled medical graduates for the country by teaching evidence-based theoretical and clinical skills in obstetrics & gynaecology.

We impart primary level care of managing pregnancy and normal delivery safely.

In our postgraduate programme our focus is on producing expert and skilled obstetrician and gynaecologist for the country by teaching evidence-based theory, clinical skills and operative skills with the aim to make them expert care givers in their field.

The department promotes conducting ethical and quality research in the unexplored areas of the gynaecological oncology, minimal invasive surgery, fetal medicine, obstetric medicine, perinatal medicine and reproductive medicine.

Well-being of women and newborns is our primary aim. This involves raising awareness about reproductive rights, advocating for access to reproductive healthcare services, and addressing disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.

  • Excellence in women health care throughout their adolescence, reproductive years, menopausal years and beyond in a consistent and ethical manner.
  • To provide effective communication to the patients.

  • All the faculty members of dept. of obst. & gynae at MGMC&H are trained to provide quality care to the patients in a consistent and ethical manner.
  • We have a well-equipped state of art labour room complex, OT complex, demonstration rooms, library for well-organized teaching of postgraduate and undergraduate students and to impart quality patient care.
Academic and Training Programme
  • The department has always strived to maintain the standards of teaching and training of Undergraduates, Postgraduates and Para-Medical staff. Members of the faculty are actively involved in various national bodies like FIGO, FOGSI, JOGS, JMS, ISAR, IMS, IFS, AGESR and working for the welfare of women. The members are also invited by prestigious bodies like NMC, UPSC, National Board as assessors, advisors and examiners.
