Overview

The department of Endocrinology at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital is responsible for the management of the patients with Diabetes Mellitus, Thyroid diseases, Obesity, Hormonal disorders, Cushing’s disease, Parathyroid disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome and perioperative management of diabetes mellitus (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus).

In addition to overseeing diabetes mellitus care in hospitals, the doctors are responsible for managing various pituitary disorders such as Acromegaly and Sheehan's Syndrome.

They also handle the treatment of patients who have undergone total thyroidectomy, as well as those with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Moreover, the team specialises in managing height and weight gain, evaluating and treating cases of hypoglycemia, and providing care to patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Cardiac Diseases (CAD) who have undergone CABG/PTCA procedures. Additionally, they are also experienced in managing patients with accelerated hypertension (Pheochromocytoma).
