M.Sc. Clinical Psychology is a full-time-two-year, four semester program initiated by the Department of Clinical Psychology. The course is designed to provide training in theoretical and practical aspects of clinical psychology field. Keeping pace with the disciplinary advances the program would address knowledge about psychological functioning at individual and social levels in an all-encompassing manner.

With the goal of acquiring specialized knowledge, the program would allow students to nurture their academic interest in clinical psychology, along with personal growth and awareness. It is one of the few postgraduate programs in Clinical Psychology in a hospital setting in India. Allows the student to observe clients with various mental health concerns that come to the Clinical Psychology OPD. This ensures simultaneous transfer of theoretical knowledge to real life clinical scenario throughout the two years.

Course Overview

The two-year M.Sc. Clinical Psychology is divided into four semesters. The curriculum starts with Personality studies. Biological perspectives, psychopathology and further encapsulates subjects such as research, ethics, palliative care, psychotherapy etc. There is also component of dissertation and clinical internship in the syllabus catering to the research and clinical aptitude of the students. The subjects in the curriculum consist of core and elective components further facilitating holistic understanding of the field in the students.

The program strives to prepare competent professional psychologists who would excel in knowledge, orientation, and practice in psychology, with high ethical standards and social relevance. After completion of the programme, job opportunities are available as psychologists, mental health counsellor, research assistant, school counsellor. Child psychologist, lecturer.
